By signing up for our medical credentialing services, we can assist you with provider enrollment and becoming an in-network provider so that you can receive reimbursements from each carrier. While just a few years ago healthcare professionals considered medical credentialing “optional” for building a practice, today it has become more necessary than ever for providers to be in network with insurance companies.
It’s important to know that credentialing and contracting takes 4-6 months to complete. Don’t believe the companies claiming they can get your credentialing completed in 30-90 days. Even if you are currently working in the same area, your new practice will need to be contracted and enrolled with all of the insurance companies under it’s OWN TAX ID.
Once the credentialing has been completed, you then move to the contracting phase. Contracts dictate how exactly you’ll be paid by various insurance companies. It is important to understand that new practices have very little leverage to negotiate for higher rates. Some companies may lead you to believe otherwise and even charge more money to attempt to do just this but we know and recommend renegotiating your contracts after 1-2 years of being in business.
We also provide services to existing practices. Credentialing is an ongoing process and must be redone every 3 to 5 years. We offer a service that will complete re-credentialing, notify you of expiring documents and maintain your CAQH profile.
